Ryan went to his very first Pinewood Derby this weekend. He was so excited to race his boat car that he and grandpa worked so hard to make. The only glitch of the day was the sails on the boat car were too tall and had to be shorted which messed up Ryan's great paint job. That didn't matter to him though, once the racing began. I loved watching look of excitement and anticipation on Ryan's face each time his car came flying down the track. Even though his car wasn't the fastest that day, it was the best looking. Ryan was so proud to receive his Best In Show metal. So proud that he couldn't stop smiling all day. By the time we got home, Ryan already had thought of designs for next years race. Great job Ryan, we are proud of you and your boat car!

Ryan finally got his boy scout uniform. I remember when I was there in November that was all he could think about. Yeah Ryan!
I have been to my share of these Pinewood Derby's and have never seen a boat car!
