I love Halloween time. By this time, everyone has fallen into routine and the weather shows signs that cooler days are to come. I love that you get to decorate from start to finish in one hour verses Christmas which takes me three days. I love baking cookies with Ryan and decorating spooky gingerbread castles. This year brought a renewed love of costumes too. I lost this love when Ryan starting becoming non-cute characters such as a power ranger or someone from star wars. However, this love has returned now that I have a little girl to play dress up with. I decided a long time ago that I wanted her to be Little Red Riding Hood. I planned on making her costume but I found one in her size at Target (yea me). Ryan's costume was just as easy. He knew exactly what he wanted to be, so it took all of five minutes to get his and Eryn's costume purchased. Halloween night we stopped by and saw my Mom and my Uncles, then we headed up to my Aunt Lynette's house for some trick-or-treating. Eryn LOVED the freedom she had walking from house to house. Even though she didn't get to concept of trick-or-treating, she enjoyed carrying her "basket" and putting candy in it. Ryan who is pro now, also asserted his independence by walking with Jillian the whole time. Matt and I hardly saw that kid the entire night. The night ended with two very sleepy but happy kids who were glad to get home and in their beds. This Halloween was quite enjoyable and we can't wait for next year.
